PLEASE READ

  1. Changing Camera model and Camera maker of NRW file

    Please do not change the contents of Camera model and Camera maker shown in the detail information area of a NRW file. If you change these, we cannot ensure proper operation of both Nikon software and NRW Codec for the file.

  2. Rotating NRW files

    You cannot rotate NRW files with Windows Explorer, Windows Photo Gallery, Windows Photo Viewer or Windows Live Photo Gallery.

  3. Printing from Windows Live Photo Gallery

    You cannot print NRW files from Windows Live Photo Gallery on Windows XP.

  4. Showing images in Explorer

    If you are on Windows XP, thumbnail images do not open in Explorer.Please use Windows Live Photo Gallery or ViewNX 2 instead of Windows Explorer for such cases.

  5. Copying NRW files in Explorer

    When you make copies of NRW files stored in the camera using Explorer on a Windows Vista Computer, the thumbnails of the files may not be displayed correctly in Explorer. You can select Refresh from the View menu to see the thumbnails correctly.

  6. Support for 64-bit Editions of Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8

    If thumbnails for NRW files fail to display correctly in Explorer, Photo Gallery, or Photo Viewer for 64-bit editions of Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8, perform a disk clean-up as described below.
    1) Right-click the system drive in Computer and select Properties.
    2) Select Disk Cleanup in the "General" tab.
    3) Select Thumbnails in the "Disk Cleanup" tab "Files to delete" list and remove the checks from the other items.
    4) Click OK to start the disk cleanup. When the "Are you sure you want to permanently delete these files?" prompt is displayed, click Delete Files.

  7. Using NRW images that were edited/saved with Capture NX 2 Version 2.3.0 or later in Windows Photo Gallery, Windows Live Photo Gallery, or Windows Photo Viewer may result in the following:

    When trying to view the NRW images, you may receive the message that the file is corrupt and cannot be opened.
    Windows Photo Gallery, Windows Live Photo Gallery, or Windows Photo Viewer may not work properly after displaying the NRW images.
